Keys: 2007 = Final 2007 AP Poll; Coach = USA Today Coaches Poll; AP = Associated Press Poll; Cp Avg = Computer Average, after discarding the highest and lowest computer rankings; Mean = Numeric average of 20 non-BCS computers

Explanation: This rankings method is a close facsimile of the actual BCS standings with the following variations: 1) The AP Poll is used in place of the Harris Interactive Poll, which is not published until after the fourth weekend of September; 2) Since no BCS computer information is available until at least after the first week of the season, 20 non-BCS computer ratings are used, and after discarding the highest and lowest ratings, the remaining 18 are averaged to produce a BCS-compatible computer average.
